2023 Miss Rodeo Mississippi

Jacqueline Denise Ervin

2023 Miss Rodeo Mississippi

On January 1, 2023, Jacqueline Denise "JD" Ervin, from McComb, Mississippi, became the 41st young lady to have the distinct honor and privilege of wearing the crown of Miss Rodeo Mississippi. She will represent Mississippi at all Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) events statewide and abroad, for a period of one year, and will compete for the title of Miss Rodeo America, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada, December 2023.

JD is the daughter of Doug and Brandi Ervin and granddaughter of Randy and Jackie Braswell. She is a 2019 graduate of Parklane Academy, where she was voted Most Friendliest of her senior class. She obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mississippi State University in 2023. While at MSU, JD was a member of the Delta Omega Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority, MSU Fashion Board, Phi Theta Kappa, and was on the President's List.

JD grew up competing in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, basic horse show events, and western pleasure. She is a 4 time National Barrel Horse Association Youth World Qualifier and a former TTES Grand Champion Barrel Racer and SMHA Reserve Champion Barrel Racer. She also held the title of 2021 Miss Dixie National and served as a Dixie National Flag Girl for three years.

When JD is not promoting the sport of rodeo, she enjoys riding  horses, going on walks, babysitting, and working as an amateur makeup artist. She is also the owner and operator of her own boutique, Quintz and Company, named after herself and her 4 siblings that were born as quintuplets. JD and her siblings were the first quintuplets born in the state of Mississippi in over 50 years.

JD would like to use her title of Miss Rodeo Mississippi to promote rodeo throughout the Hospitality State and nationally by sharing her platform of Women Mentoring Women. This platform will showcase women involved in business and agriculture who work hard and inspire others. JD was inspired to choose this platform as she is personally involved in the business world as a boutique owner.
